They say everything is bigger in Texas, and they’re right! It’s a big place, with so much to see and do, and a heritage all of its own.
The Texas landscape ranges from desert Badlands and swimmable coastlines to lush mountains and sprawling prairies. Its communities go from the heights of urban sophistication (and size!) on down to the tiniest, most charming out-of-the-way towns.
There is no shortage of Country culture here too with rodeos, line-dancing and ample opportunities for an adventure by horse. And then there’s the barbecue. It’s hard to find a better place on this planet for a plate of ribs or brisket, served with a whopping helping of Texas home-style side dishes.
From its famed barbecue pits to legendary dance halls, the state’s favourites still attract many fun seekers, but modern Texas boasts so much more to discover. You can shop till you drop in Houston or Dallas; take in a concert or enjoy a long weekend festival in Austin; hit historic landmarks, including the Mission Trail in San Antonio, which features the battle-scarred Alamo; kick it like a cowboy at a dude ranch or grab a backpack and hike into the wide-open wilderness of Big Bend.
Each region of the state has its own charms and personality with a wide range of experiences and adventures that you could spend months crisscrossing the Lone Star state and never run out of things to do. And the people you meet along the way from the state’s biggest cities to its smallest towns may well be the friendliest folks y’all ever met!
